12 Durance
The name given to a very heavy felt, woven to imitate leather. The colour is buff and a smooth finish similar to billiard cloth is given to the face. Durance appears to have been the name for buff leather, hence a fabric of that colour made in imitation of it, and very strong, was given the same name.
